Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 June 2026 · Published by Sloom Software
The short version. Signal Loom is a local-first application with no user accounts and no Sloom servers. We do not collect, store, sell, or share your personal information. Your projects, media, and API keys stay on your device. The only time your content leaves your device is when you choose to send it to a third-party AI provider using your own credentials.
1. Information we collect
We (Sloom Software) collect no personal data. Signal Loom contains no analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking, or crash-reporting that sends data to us. We operate no backend that receives your data.
2. Data stored on your device
Signal Loom stores the following locally on your device so the app can work. This data is not transmitted to us:
- Provider API keys and settings you enter, kept in local app storage so you don’t re-enter them.
- Projects (
.sloomfiles) and the media you import or generate. - App preferences (layout, tool, and UI settings).
You can remove this data at any time by deleting your projects, clearing the app’s storage, or uninstalling the app.
3. Data you send to third-party AI providers
Signal Loom is a bring-your-own-key tool. When you run a generation, edit, or other AI action, the app sends the inputs needed for that action — for example your prompt text, and any image, video, or audio you selected — directly from your device to the AI provider you chose for that action, authenticated with the API key you supplied. Depending on your configuration this may include Google (Gemini / Vertex AI), OpenAI or OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Hugging Face, Stability AI, Black Forest Labs, Atlas Cloud, ElevenLabs, and similar AI providers you configure.
These providers are independent companies. Your use of them is governed by their terms and privacy policies, and any usage is billed to you by them. We are not a party to that relationship and never receive a copy of that content. Please review each provider’s privacy policy before sending content to it. These transfers happen only as a result of an action you initiate and only to the destination you selected. Signal Loom does not send your content anywhere on its own.
4. Permissions
- Internet — to communicate with the AI providers you configure.
- Storage (legacy, older Android only) — to save your projects and exported files to a shared folder. On modern Android (13+) no storage permission is requested at all.
When you import media, you choose the file through the standard Android file picker, which grants Signal Loom access only to the file you selected — no broad photo/media permission is requested. All media is processed on your device.
5. Children’s privacy
Signal Loom is a professional creative tool intended for general/older audiences. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
6. Data security
Because your data stays on your device and we hold none of it, there is no Sloom-side database to breach. Network requests to AI providers are made over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Protecting the device itself (lock screen, OS updates, who has access) is your responsibility.
7. Data deletion
You are in control of all data. To delete it: delete individual .sloom projects, clear
Signal Loom’s app storage in Android Settings, and/or uninstall the app. To delete content you
previously sent to an AI provider, use that provider’s own controls.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this URL.
